Bhandardara, Maharashtra
August month and it’s arrival of Shravana, a month full of festivals and rituals. Along with the festivals, it is the time to witness the play of rain and sunlight. It is time for remarkable landscapes, all across rural areas.
Bhandardara is one such a place, located about 185 km from Mumbai, within the Sahyadris.
The images below were shot in 2006, on my D80.
Randhaa Falls, on the Pravara river, is a the monsoon attraction, The dive of more than 150 ft depth, makes this waterfall one of the notables in India.
Amruteshwar temple
Located near Ratanwadi, the Shiva temple was built around 11th century, in Hemadpanthi style. This ancient temple is intricately carved in stone. The Serene place is surrounded by lush green paddy fields .
