Morning Light

In continuation with my first post, here are some more images from Bahe. The bridge across Krishna river, lined with stone and the arches give a nostalgic feel of an old bridge. It is a view which would make you sit down on the walk way and be with yourself. Following images were shot on a summer morning. During summer, you can get to the middle of river, as the water level is low and the rocks are all exposed to walk through to the middle of river.

Baya Weaver

While wandering around the temples on Ramlinga Island, I came across with a busy weaver bird, building a nest. My patience paid off in getting this striking pose.

Kolhapur: Photographing old glory

This is my first post for documenting unprotected architecture examples, which have survived through the concretization of our cities & towns. Kolhapur, my home-town is one my interests to document the old buildings. Kolhapur had its own charm till 90’s. Following image was shot in Gangavesh, the part of old city near Panchganga river. These two buildings standing tall, with minimum intervention from modern times.

One of the major troubles, while photographing any Indian city, are the electric cables which get in your way. I had to go through a lot of corrections to remove the hanging wires from this shot to bring out the buildings.

I like the black & white version the most. You can decide which one is best.

Bhardkhol – Fishing village

A fishing village situated near to Shrivardhan in Maharashtra and accessible by the coastal road. The formation of the fishing boats was clicked from surrounding hill. It was about 10.00 am, when the boats were ready to get into the sea. The area is protected by rocks with a narrow route for the water and boats.

This scenic turn of the road is very easy to miss if you are not slow enough while driving.
