Monsoon is here

After a long break of more than 3 years, here is an image clicked when monsoon is just about to start.
The pre-monsoon showers bring a great show of light, shadow and sound (and we don’t have to pay for it). The lightening was shot during one such evening from the terrace of my home. It was a challenge to capture the exact moment and get the exposure before it’s gone.
The communication tower adds some sense of the scale to the lightening column.

Morning Light

In continuation with my first post, here are some more images from Bahe. The bridge across Krishna river, lined with stone and the arches give a nostalgic feel of an old bridge. It is a view which would make you sit down on the walk way and be with yourself. Following images were shot on a summer morning. During summer, you can get to the middle of river, as the water level is low and the rocks are all exposed to walk through to the middle of river.

Baya Weaver

While wandering around the temples on Ramlinga Island, I came across with a busy weaver bird, building a nest. My patience paid off in getting this striking pose.

Bhandardara, Maharashtra

August month and it’s arrival of Shravana, a month full of festivals and rituals. Along with the festivals, it is the time to witness the play of rain and sunlight. It is time for remarkable landscapes, all across rural areas.
Bhandardara is one such a place, located about 185 km from Mumbai, within the Sahyadris.
The images below were shot in 2006, on my D80.

Randhaa Falls, on the Pravara river, is a the monsoon attraction, The dive of more than 150 ft depth, makes this waterfall one of the notables in India.
